About Richard Paris

Rick Paris was born in 1955 in Queens, New York City, New York

His love of photography started at a very young age around 5-6 years old and his parents let him and another brother set up a black and white darkroom. He starting with a Nikon F and finally moving up to the Nikon F5 film camera and now the high end digital Nikon SLR’s.

After working almost 30 years in the Movie Industry, owning a motion picture lighting and grip company and then buying a movie studio in NYC, Rick decided it was time to get back to his real love of photography and moved to Montana in May 2005.

Montana seems to be a perfect base for this lifestyle. Between the wonderful nature opportunities, the landscapes which are breath taking and the people are just plain wonderful to photograph. The people offer a diverse mixture of old and new with a great zest for life that I rarely have encountered elsewhere.
Rick graduated with an engineering degree. His love and respect of nature and wildlife never waned. Rick had to give in! Owning his own motion picture film studio in New York, "Paris Film Productions & Paris Studios" for the past 30 years has allowed him to travel extensively. Rick feels very lucky to have been able to photograph all the wildlife, people and landscapes that he has to this date.
Rick’s portfolio is ever expanding. Each day Rick is blessed to see more things than the day before and why should we limit ourselves to all the diverse beauty that abounds. Some of this includes many birds, animals, scenic shots, people, events, weddings, kids and pet photography.
Rick’s works and words have been seen and heard far and wide. Rick has won numerous awards and his photography has been seen as far north as Alaska and throughout the US.
Rick's goal is to preserve the “moment.”  A picture should be worth a thousand words and as professionals shouldn’t have to explain the “moment.” If we have to explain the shot, we didn’t accomplish our mission.
